Code of Conduct
1. Purpose
PyConSo is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free experience for all participants, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, age, religion, or any other personal characteristic. We expect all participants, including attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and staff, to adhere to this Code of Conduct throughout the event.
Expected Behavior
All participants are expected to:
- Treat each other with respect, kindness, and empathy.
- Engage in constructive and inclusive discussions.
- Be mindful of their language and behavior, avoiding any form of offensive or harassing conduct.
- Respect and adhere to the rules, policies, and instructions provided by the event organizers and venue staff.
- Report any concerns or incidents of harassment, discrimination, or other inappropriate behavior to the event organizers promptly.
Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are considered unacceptable and will not be tolerated:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form, including but not limited to verbal, written, or physical actions.
- Offensive, derogatory, or discriminatory comments or jokes related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, age, religion, or any other personal characteristic.
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
- Unwanted photography or recording.
- Disruption of talks, presentations, workshops, or other event activities.
- Unauthorized distribution or sharing of event materials or recordings.
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
If a participant engages in any behavior outlined in section 3, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including but not limited to:
- Issuing a verbal or written warning.
- Expulsion from the event without a refund.
- Prohibition from attending future events organized by the same team.
- Reporting the incident to the appropriate local authorities, if necessary.
Reporting and Enforcement
If you witness or experience any incidents of harassment, discrimination, or other violations of this Code of Conduct, please notify the event organizers immediately. Organizers will be clearly identified at the event and will be available to help participants.
All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality. We strongly encourage you to provide as much detail as possible when making a report to enable a thorough investigation.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all event-related activities, including talks, presentations, workshops, social events, and online interactions associated with the event.
